Great ideas from my Google Reader subscriptions

Filed under: blogging, skills — Miss W. @ 10:05 pm

I get some great ideas from my Google reader subscriptions.  I now read about 30 blogs from educational and ICT bloggers every day as well as the new posts from the students in my class.  If there is a WOW idea that catches my eye, I will go to the actual blog and follow up the activity.

One from today’s reading was posted by Britt Gow and was about a “tag galaxy”.  I headed to the website and created one for my class using the tags sumo, wrestling and tournament.  In the actual flash player program you can move the sphere around but I just took a screen shot (first time ever) to use here in my blog.

  1. Hi Tasteach.I saw your tweet about Tag Galaxy and really didn’t know how to use it. Now I do and it’s a wonderful resource, thanks. I typed “friendship” in and came up with a lot of photos which could be used during class discussions. I also followed the links to some photos to the flickr page just to check the copyright and to add some to my favourites.

  3. Hi there Sue,
I saw your blog mentioned on Alannahk’s blog. I like your comments about Google Reader. I scan in list form about 700 posts a day and star about 70 on average.Google via this tool has been the main source of my learning 2.0 knowledge.

I am interested to know what web filter system Tasmania has, since we in NSW can’t access some of the most important web 2.0 tools.

Also, I tried to follow you on Twitter, but you are private.

I am also commenting on your blog, because I have not visited before, I don’t think. This is a contribution to the twitterchallenge from an Australian blog and tweeter.
